Waterlase Laser Dentistry
NO SHOTS
OR DRILLS
NO FEAR.
Why Waterlase
The Waterlase laser for Cavities
The Waterlase™ laser uses a combination of laser energy and water energy (photo-acoustics) to perform soft and hard tissue dental procedures that otherwise are performed with a dental drill or scalpel.

Gentle And Precise:without a drill
WaterLase laser energy quickly removes cavities with pinpoint accuracy – without the heat, vibration, and shrill sound of the drill.
For the majority of our patients, no freezing is necessary. Little to no numbness after the procedure leads to less accidental cheek biting and discomfort after a dental procedure.

Eliminates the Source of Cavities
The Waterlase is effective at removing the source of cavities by eliminating the bacteria and sterilizing the cavity – this cannot be achieved with a drill.
Our patients also experience less post-operative sensitivity after the procedure.
Eliminate Fear & Anxiety
No needles and no drills mean less fear, less stress and less anxiety for both you and your child.
Less Trauma, Faster Healing
Patients treated with laser energy recover more quickly.
Because the WaterLase laser performs incisions so precisely, it stops bleeding before it starts. Soft tissue procedures, such as frenectomies, are made far less painful and traumatic. Wound healing can occur more rapidly with less discomfort for your child and a reduced need for post-operative antibiotics.

About Dr. Zhang
My Passion
Having struggled with dental anxiety for the majority of my childhood, I am passionate about creating a caring and comfortable environment for my patients. The tools for comfortable dentistry exist and it’s my passion to eliminate discomfort and anxiety during a dental visit.
My Training
During my training at Sunnybrook Hospital, I had the opportunity to learn from leading oral surgeons, pathologists and dental anaesthesiologists. I was exposed to a wide range of challenging clinical cases, as well as treated many medically compromised patients. My collective experiences at Sunnybrook have shaped the dentist I am today.
Most Rewarding Dental Experience
I’ve had the privilege to provide dentistry in remote, underserviced areas in rural Ontario (Moose Factory and Sioux Lookout). Many communities are only accessible by flight and some do not have consistent dental access. Despite the frigid (-40C) winters, I was blown away by the spirit and kindness of these communities. The final leg of my Northern Adventure was in Geraldton, ON where I lived for over a year and have made a lasting impression on the beauty of Northern Ontario.
